Job Summary:

The Driver Recruiting Manager is responsible for driving the performance and production of the recruiting team! This is accomplished through planning, organizing, directing growth of our driver pool, and assisting in retention strategies. The DRM will provide new, creative solutions, methods, and programs to keep pace with the marketplace, the needs of drivers, and align with Merx Global’s fleet expansion plan. The DRM will address issues, build trust and confidence, and establish open lines of communication to maintain positive relationships with our prospective drivers.
This position will require a strategic focus with strengths in project management and business development. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, creativity, and excellent problem-solving skills. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership, coaching, and performance management skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Finally, this position requires related experience in the trucking and mobile logistics industry, strong computer skills, progressive knowledge of the transportation industry, and experience managing recruiting or sales personnel.

  • Train the recruiting team to follow qualifying requirements for driver hiring guidelines
  • Manage driver application process to ensure compliant and complete driver applications
  • Measure and constantly improve the hiring metrics of each Driver Recruiter
  • Work closely with leadership to provide the necessary resources to achieve defined hiring goals
  • Work closely with recruiters and other departments to make sure drivers are moved efficiently through the hiring process.
  • Establish relevant recruiting goals through daily and weekly reporting and ensure the recruiting team is meeting hiring targets.
  • Establish departmental recruiting metrics that align with fleet expansion goals
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Able to communicate effectively both in-person and through written correspondences and presentations with candidates, recruiters, peers, managers, and leadership
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and results driven
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized initiative-taker with the ability to self-direct and self-prioritize work with the ability to pivot as needed
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and promote a positive workplace culture
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of DOT truck driver requirements
  • Previous relevant work experience in logistics, trucking a plus
  • Prior recruiting team or sales team management experience highly preferred
  • Experience recruiting or hiring professional truck drivers required
  • Experience with candidate data mining strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Tenstreet applicant tracking systems required
  • Knowledge of trucking, HOS, DOT regulations a plus
